Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to help you navigate your release workflow.

Is CreatiX Studio a music distributor?

No, CreatiX Studio is not a direct distributor or DSP. We are a release management operations workspace. We help independent artists prepare their release assets, clean metadata, and manage quality checks. Actual DSP delivery is handled manually by our team via our backend partner, Label Caster.

What is the difference between Licensed and Unlicensed Releases?

Licensed Releases are for original music where the artist holds 100% of rights, or has a valid beat license. This is free to submit, and the royalty split is 80% to the Artist and 20% to the Platform.
Unlicensed Releases are for songs using downloaded beats (e.g. YouTube or free-for-non-profit beats). Because these carry risk and require extensive manual verification, they incur a ₦5,000 processing fee and a 60/40 royalty split.

How do I verify a Licensed release?

During the upload process, select "I own rights/license" and upload your license agreement document (PDF, DOC, or screenshot image of your invoice/rights cert). Our internal operations team will review it.

Am I legally protected if I release an Unlicensed beat?

No. CreatiX Studio does not assume legal responsibility for unlicensed content. You must check the legal agreement box, confirming that you are fully responsible for all uploaded files. The 60/40 split covers our manual risk review and processing efforts, not legal rights indemnification.

How do I get paid my royalties?

Royalties are calculated monthly once received from Label Caster. The dashboard reflects your split-calculated share. Payouts can be requested directly to your bank account or local digital wallet.
